Elements of art

Today I was learning about elements of art.The texture, the line, the form, the space, the colour and the value.

If you look at both of the pictures than you can easily notice that my one is a bit brighter than the other.Well,I actually did a different colour for two reasons.1.Because the colour pops out.2.Because it will just look the same if I coloured with the same colour.

The original

My one.

Making money

Today Room 7 is making money.

First we had to read articles about security features and how to know if money is real.

Then we had to draw a very famous person and write about why we draw this person.I chose Gandhi.

After that we had a choice of picking any country.

Then we had to mimic the security features.

And then this is what I ended up with.

What makes money,money?

Do you know what makes money, money?

Today Room 7 have been learning about money and it's security features.

Why do money have security features?

Money has security features so it makes it harder for people to actually copy the money. There are lots of features in the money and that's what makes money, money.

1.Each note has a transparent window that you can look through. The window of the note will be a oval or a different shape.

2.There is a fern on the money note.If you put it in the light it will match perfectly on the other side of the note.

3.On every note there should be a serial number printed horizontally and vertically.

4.If you put your fingers on the note and run it over quickly you will be able to feel the raised ink.

5.Tiny micro printed RBNZ should be seen if you use a magnifying glass.

Do you know why security features are important?

How to know if money is real.

Today we are learning about money.Do you know how to tell if money is real?
Well today Room 7 is learning about money. We learnt how to know if money is real.

How to know if your money is real.
First look through the holographic window, the edges of the window should look flat and you should be able to see the birds shadow,a image of New Zealand and a 3 dimensional feature showing the value of the note.
Then feel the top of the note. You should be able to feel the ink raised on the note.
After that tilt the note to see the bird shining and the holographic window.
So that's how you know if money is real.Just look, feel, and tilt.

Kids voting 2020

Today we have been learning both about graphs and elections. What I enjoyed about this blog is that you get to learn new things and afterwards you get to share what you created.

There was a party called Labor. The party is most likely to be popular and prime minister of New Zealand compared to the other parties it will win.,

There is a packet of sour patch kids on the table.Everyone wants the red, yummy and sour patch kids.As you can see from the bar graph that the red sour patch kid is most likely to be eaten just like the one on top except that it is planted. What I am trying to say is that Labor is most likely to become prime minister.

Are you ready to vote for election?

Mt Roskill electoral vote

Today I am creating a graph about votes. We had to do both a digital graph and a graph with our hands.I enjoyed this lesson because I learned how to create a graph.

What is MMP?

Today Room 7 is learning about MMP.What I enjoyed about writing this was learning at the same time.

MMP stands for Mixed Member Proportional.Mixed Member Proportional is the voting system that New Zealand uses.

Usually there are 120 members of Parliament also known as (MP's).Did you know there are actually 72 electorates including seven other Maori electorates.

Every area chooses one Member of Parliament to represent them in Parliament, which is called Electorate MP.

Each person that is voting has 2 votes. One of the votes are the electoral vote and the other is a party vote.Did you know that you have to be 18 and over to be able to vote.

The first vote is for the political party. This means that the total of number of seats each political party gets in Parliament.

The Electoral vote is to choose the person to represent their local area. The nominee who gets the most votes wins. They do not need to get more than half the votes.

If a political party get at least 5% of the votes they get to share the seats of Parliament.

Parties with a bigger share of the party vote will get the more seats in Parliament. The amount of seats each party gets is proportional to the amount of party votes the party gets.

So if the party wins 20 electorate seats it will have 16 list MP's in to it's 20 electorate MP's.
